BEST NEW TRACKS: BASS DRUM OF DEATH "LEFT FOR DEAD"

10/5/14

WARNING: The following song and video are liable to rock your f**king face off. "Left For Dead" is a best new track from Bass Drum of Death. The video that accompanies the car crash of noise and raw energy that is "Left for Dead" is really one for the ages. Director Dick Thompson found an understated way to visualize that sense of anxiety and paranoia of the song.

Hailing from Oxford, MS, the garage rock duo John Barret and Len Clark (now a full-time band member) are prepping the third Bass Drum of Death LP, Rip This. If you aren't already hyped for this album, the NSFW video for "Left For Dead" will get you there. The creepy and surreal setting feels like the promo for a comic book villain. A gaggle of beautiful babies is shown wondering around some dude's mansion in various states of beat up. Most of the barely-clad ladies have a broken appendage or two. And just how did they all end up liked this? Well you'll have to watch to find out, although you don't need that great of an imagination to put the puzzle pieces together.
