BEST NEW TRACKS: FMLYBND "YOUNG AND WILD"

9/10/14

We've been all about the New Yorkers-turned-Santa Barbarians FMLYBND for a minute now, so you knew we'd love their new single, "Young and Wild."

I had initially hoped this was a synth-pop cover of Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa's famous collaboration. After I got over my disappointment, I realized that the thematic content here was the same, and that this song rules. Working with producer Eric Palmquist, of Wavves and Bad Suns fame, "Young and Wild" is more layered than FMLYBND's initial eye-popping single, "Electricity." "Young and Wild" does manage to match its infectiousness and energy; it just takes its time in doing so.

Listen to this track below. Just know that it'll be stuck in your head for at least the rest of the week once you do.
