CHILL OUT MUSIC - WEEK 3 PART 2 2015

1/17/15

I know we’re not even a full month into 2015 yet, but I think it’s pretty safe to say that this is going to be a good year for chill out music. We have some seriously stellar stuff from Govales, Max Frost, Fjord, and more. So grab your headphones and cuddle up with that stained but super cozy blanket of yours (don't worry, it’s not gross—just loved!), because we have even more of the best indie chill songs of the week!

GOVALES - GO FOR THE KILL

Today we kick things off on a super sexy note with new R&B singer-songwriter, Govales, and his latest track, “Go For The Kill.” His silky smooth vocals effortlessly flow over low-key electronic elements and a quick ticking beat, which blends together to create a sensual and laid back vibe.

FJORD - BLUE

New Canadian duo, Fjord, totally won me over with their dreamy electropop track, “Blue.” Featuring brooding female vocals, skittering beats, and soft electronic elements, the track gives off a calm yet dramatic vibe that I can’t get enough of. This is their only track so far, and I can’t wait to hear what they release next.

123MRK - GOTTA CHOOSE FEAT. MARTIN MEY

French producer 123Mrk takes 8-bit Nintendo sounding electronic elements and creates something super special on his latest track, “Gotta Choose.” Featuring soft vocals from Martin Mey, the track continues to change throughout it’s duration which makes for a completely enchanting 5 minutes. My favorite part has to be around the 2:13 mark when everything stops and you’re hit with what sounds like a whirlwind of sparkling bubbles, before slowly building back up again.

MAX FROST - LET ME DOWN EASY

I’ll warn you—this is the point on the list where things get a bit on the emotional side. 22 year old Texas-native, Max Frost, shows off his strong songwriting skills, both lyrically and musically, with his latest single, “Let Me Down Easy.” Featuring raw vocals, subtle electronic elements, and a easy going beat, he totally surprises you after the 2 minute mark with a funky little breakdown that totally kicks up the mood.

AEURIA - DAWN PT.2 (AMBIENT MIX)

Coming in at a whopping hour and 13 minutes long, Aeuria’s “Dawn Pt. 2” will totally blow you away. The Vancouver-based producer starts things off with subtle atmospherics and the sound of a light rain storm, and from there on out the elements slowly evolve which makes for a completely captivating and cinematic experience.

PRZCNTN - MEMORY HAS YOU

Mysterious new artist Przcntn may only have 93 SoundCloud followers at the moment, but I’m sure that number will quickly grow once their track, “Memory Has You,” gets around. The track is calming yet a bit menacing, as it’s packed with haunting atmospherics, distant electronics, and echoey vocal samples that are wonderfully eerie.
