NEW ARTIST FINDS: LUNA SHADOWS

4/13/16

New LA-based artist LUNA SHADOWS is quickly creating major buzz with her insanely catchy debut single, “Cry Wolf.” The multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter does most of the work herself, but has recently recruited the likes of Brad Hale (Now Now) and Thom Powers (The Naked and Famous) to take on the roles of co-producers. She describes her sound as what it would sound like if “Ellie Goulding took Lana Del Rey to the beach,” and once you hear her music (especially “Hallelujah California”), you’ll quickly agree that it’s the perfect description. If you need a new indie-pop artist in your life that you’ll actually care about, then read on to see why LUNA SHADOWS is quickly becoming one of our favorite new artists!

LUNA SHADOWS - CRY WOLF

“Cry Wolf” was the first song I heard from Luna, and from the minute I pressed play I knew I was going to quickly fall for her infectious pop vocals and intricate production. This song served as a fantastic debut single as it encompasses her distinct vocals, love for synth-infused production, and her knack for writing invigorating and infectious melodies that you’ll want to come back to again and again. Playful percussion, shimmering synths, and a chorus that gets stuck in your head from the moment you first hear it (at 0:48) will have you totally hooked.

LUNA SHADOWS - HALLELUJAH CALIFORNIA

“Hallelujah California” is a beachy love song about California with a dark pop-electronic twist that would make Lana Del Rey proud. Cute and memorable lyrics about various Los Angeles staples (Origami Record Night, Silverlake, etc) keep your attention throughout, while swelling synths and spacey electronics makes for a ridiculously awesome track that proves she knows how to write a damn good indie-pop song.

If you’re anything like us here at BitCandy, you’re now totally obsessed with her and you want to follow her on everything you can! You be sure to like her on Facebook to show her your support, and head on over here if you need even more awesome new music like this in your life.
