NEW ARTIST FINDS: KYGO

At only 22 years old,new artist Kyrre Gorvell-Dahll, known by his stage name, Kygo, is creating lot’s of buzz in the electronic universe. Located in Bergen, Norway, the young producer has been generating a ton of plays on his SoundCloud page and has even captured the attention of artists like Diplo. With his stand out melodies and unique take on popular music, I think it’s safe to say that Kygo will soon be amongst the top producers in the industry. What, don’t believe me? Well, then I’ll shut up and let you listen for yourself! You’ll see what I mean (like we’ve ever steered you wrong before…psssh).
M83 - WAIT (KYGO REMIX)
First, let me say that I love M83, but Kygo really did something amazing with “Wait” and brought it up to a whole other level. His unique touch turned the track into a mystical whirlwind of beats and electronic elements that display his talents wonderfully (especially around 1:47!).
KYLA LA GRANGE - CUT YOUR TEETH (KYGO REMIX)
I absolutely love what he did with Kyla La Grange’s “Cut Your Teeth.” Though the original is pretty solid itself, once you hear his remix it will be very hard to go back (sorry Kyla!). He adds a tropical, almost Ace of Base-ish vibe to the track and it compliments everything wonderfully. It’s clear that unlike some producers, he knows what he’s doing and when to do it.
BENJAMIN FRANCIS LEFTWICH - SHINE (KYGO REMIX)
His mix of “Shine” by Benjamin Francis Leftwich (yeah…try saying THAT name five times in a row without getting totally tongue-tied) gives the acoustic guitar-filled song a completely different vibe. The beats he adds to the song give it some much needed character (in my opinion, anyway) and gives it a fun and fresh twist you’ll totally love.
If you liked what you heard, make sure to like his Facebook page and maybe even show him some support by checking him out on tour and buying him a drink!...or pizza. Whatever he wants.
