New Indie Pop Find: The Colourist

6/27/12

There is nothing that BitCandy love more than a fierce Top Indie female musician. It is unsurprising, then, that we instantly fell for California's The Colourist upon catching their drummer, Maya Tuttle, at the back of the stage, whacking the living shit out of some skins while serenading us with her sweet, sweet harmonies. Swoon...

But, uh, Tuttle crushing aside, The Colourist as a whole are absolutely adorable. Their puppy dog indie pop -- what with its charming melodies and gorge boy-girl vocals -- makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But then again, that could just be the curry that we had last night.

Check out The Colourist's latest single / key track, “Wishing Wells,” to see if you experience similar side-effects...

Well?

I thought so!  Here's another to wet your appetite:

Now...get this shit!: The Colourist are still unsigned (but judging by the huge major label A&R turnout last night at Los Angeles' Bootleg venue...it won't be for very long).  Their live shows are already making major waves among the music community, and if you are in the Los Angeles area, you can currently catch The Colourist's top indie beats LIVE every Monday at the Bootleg Bar (limited residency). And if you are nowhere near LA, either a) move here ya dummy or b) go download The Colourist's debut EP instead!

PS - call us Maya!
