TOP ELECTRO HOUSE - WEEK 35 2014

8/25/14

You think Los Angeles is a ghost town during SXSW or Coachella, right?  Well, you don't actually know shit about shit cause now it's Burning Man time and there literally isn't a single person here. I do mean literally and not figuratively too. Every single person with any affinity for music or partying or festivals or culture packed up their RV and hit the road to go experience some of the coolest art sculptures in the world, surprise house music all weekend long, an emotional release as they burn the Man and release their intentions off into the world. Don't forget about old man dick, dust storms and surprise Datsik sets! Those are there too! But hey, nothing's perfect!

For those of you still left in the world, here are some songs. Got some new shit from SNAILS, Bixel Boys and Will Sparks, as well as a classic from a band that's gonna tour next summer and remind us all what electronic music SHOULD be!

ZHU - SUPERFRIENDS (JUST A GENT REMIX)

Literally everybody has been remixing the whole ZHU EP, but that's because they are all intelligent and can hear good music when it smacks them in the face. Here Just a Gent throw some Future Bass on Superfriends and it's just as enjoyable as the other 1001 remixes we've heard of the 5 ZHU songs that exist so far.

BIXEL BOYS - CLUTCH

You know those dudes that you've seen come up? That you were on board with from their first Ciara remix and they continue to impress you and your friends? Bixel Boys are local and I've seen them come so so far. From opening set on a Boatylicious Cruise to closing down the Cosmic Meadow at EDC Las Vegas. These guys don't give a fuck about what anyone thinks. They play some hard ass acid tech-house and their songs hit so hard in the club. Long Live Bixel Boys.

SNAILS & HEROBUS - PUMP THIS

I think SNAILS are awesome. They have a sound unlike anyone else in the scene right now and it hits hard and it's expertly produced. That being said, I fucking hate it. I can appreciate and hate something at the same time, can't I? The sounds SNAILS produce are incredibly frightening to me and it makes me feel like the old man I am. I'm sure this is what people first felt like when they heard Skrillex's Bro-Step songs for the first time.

PHACE & MISANTHROP // NEOSIGNAL RECORDINGS PODCAST VOLUME 008

Nothing better than some hard hitting Drum & Bass to get your Monday morning going, right? If you aren't moving in your desk than you aren't alive. OR you don't like Drum & Bass. But honestly, I don't really want to associate with anyone who doesn't like Drum & Bass anyways. Wut, U don't like Sub Focus mate? I'm normally pretty anti posting mixes on this list. But goddamn if y'all need a Monday pep in your Monday step. This gonna do!

THE PRODIGY - SMACK MY BITCH UP

Everybody has been playing The Prodigy this festival season. Firestarter and Breathe were inescapable. It's because they're all super fucking excited for that new Prodigy album and tour that's coming next year. We're excited too! That's why we're posting this classic video for Smack my Bitch Up (Spoiler Alert, It's a woman!). Oh Lord, I can't wait to see these motherfuckers next summer. They haven't been in America since they opened up for Linkin Park in like 200-who gives a shit, 'cause it's Linkin Park.

SHIFT K3Y - I KNOW (AC SLATER REMIX)

This track is going to be the anthem of the House&Bass movement that AC Slater is pushing forward. We live in a world where Disclosure headline main stages and deep house sells better than progressive house. Where's the underground?  Just one layer underneath that… playing one Thursday a month at Night Bass at Sound Nightclub. House & Bass are where we club kids can retreat when everybody and their sister's dog's dad's cousin's Vietnam vet's friend's chiropractor seems to be getting down to pool party music. 2014 -- the year dance music broke in on itself.

WILL SPARKS - THIS IS WHAT THE BOUNCE IS (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

The Aussies love bounce and no one represents that more than Will Sparks. Or Joel Fletcher. Or Timmy Trumpet. Fuck it, The Aussie Bounce Mafia is playing b2b2b at Nocturnal Wonderland and all the kids are going to bounce like a bouncy ball chucked around a cement garage. I'm sure this song is going to go off. The kids will bounce to the moon and back.

SOPHIE - DRINKQT.COM

My friends went to Splash House and came back saying, "everything was amazing but Sophie." And I told them that they don't know anything at all. Now we aren't friends. Sorry, super passionate about Bubblegum Club.

PHOENIX - BANKRUPT! (GESAFFELSTEIN REMIX)

P sure that Phoenix gave anyone who asked the stems to Bankrupt! I think there have been more official remixes of this track than any other track in the history of music. But they can all eat a dick. 'Cause the dark prince of techno just came in and made this perfect remix. It's dark, it's soulful. It hurts, and it's beautiful. When did Gessa go and become Trent Reznor on us? WHO CARES. Let's sway.

THE NOISY FREAKS - TONIGHT

Funk Yeah. Huge Funk-Step Electro here from the Noisy Freaks. A little bit of Daft Punk, a little bit of GRIZ. This shit is gonna be huge. Can always rely on Mr Suicide Sheep to find the new new before the rest of us.

I hope that you have a beautiful week, meet someone new and go on a wild adventure. If you don't, there's always next week!

About Kurt Kroeber

From deep within the murky depths of the Los Angeles River emerged a creature: 50% raver, 50% comedian, 10% Robotcop. Kurt Kroeber doesn’t own a dog, operates Soundbleed (the world’s only dance party comedy talk show rave), and is down to party with you. Come up some time and say “Hey dude!” But definitely make sure to casually drop the secret Illuminati password.
