Do I turn you on to any new music?

KEVIN SEATON - BUSTED

I was watching this, thinking DAMN i wish this was a full-length feature anime movie and not just a music video. AND lookie-lo, it is! Aachi & Ssipak looks weird and fun in all the Kurt specific ways. For freaks By freaks. Plus you know, it's coming to America with a new hard electro soundtrack from Kevin Seaton and Mad Decent. So that's cool. Anyone wanna see some Korean anime with me? Nerd bro date?

DUCK SAUCE - NRG (SKRILLEX, KILL THE NOISE, MILO & OTIS REMIX)

I'd be surprised if Skrillex or Kill the Noise spent over 7 minutes working on this track combined. It sounds NOTHING like either of them. Milo & Otis are cool too though. I like what they're selling here. They ARE on OWSLA and ARE going on tour with head-honcho Skrillex, so I get it. Slap your name on a track and sell some Beatport downloads for your boys. ALL about the Duck Sauce moments here. Sometimes it just takes a remix to make you fall in love with an original mix. The Quack is Back baby.

DON DIABLO - BLACK MASK

You never know what you're going to get with Don Diablo. No two songs sound alike and I think that's really cool. He's got all sorts of tricks up his sleeves in the EDM deck of cards. This song has that hard kick that's so popular with the kids nowadays (on tracks like Animals and Epic -- Epic is still popular right?) but with a fun Acid Bass lain on top of it. I'd love to hear this track POP in the middle of a huge festival set. Don Diablo is on his way to mainstages this summer and I'll check it out. This video is matrix-yyyyyy.

ZEDD - FIND YOU (MOLEZ REMIX)

Damn this is fun. The drop has that bouncy as hell rhythm on top of that acid bass, eliminating all the Zedd cheese from this song. I fux with Zedd minus Cheese. I'm Lactose Zeddtolerant.

DESTINY'S CHILD - BILLS, BILLS, BILLS (GENIUS VISION)

Of course. Take a sample from 90's R&B/Hip-Hop and put it on top of a track that's goin' deep. It's a time (2013) tested formula at this point, but if it keeps working I'll keep twerking. Well, i'm not actually going to twerk, I just wanted to find a rhyme and that was more or less perfect and don't judge me.

DOWNLINK - RAW POWER (FIGURE VIP)

Um.  This ain't my thing so I'll ask my friend Gary to step in and review this track. "Dude, this is so fucking tight. It like bangs so hard. Wild ass dubstep shit. I'm at work just getting up and up and up to this. Hold on BRB gotta shuffle. My boss just fired me.  FUCK."

JUST FRIENDS - DON'T TELL ME

Nicolas Jaar is my favorite dude making music. Here's a new project with Sasha Spielberg that I like it as much as any of his solo or Darkside shit. Jaar is unstoppable and I will never not post new shit from him. Atmospheric, emotional, dark, soulful, dancey.  Get addicted to the best, y'all.

JACK BEATS - THE ILL SHIT

Between this and Beatbox, Jack Beats are making some deeper music for the club and I am in LOVE  with it. Beni G and Plus One are two of the smartest dudes in dance music, constantly evolving, while holding on to what makes them uniquely special. We're blessed that Jack Beats came back in the past two years hitting as hard as they ever did.

PEGBOARD NERDS - HERO FT. ELIZAVETA

Yo, props to Pegboard Nerds for incorporating hardstyle sounds into Electro in a subtler way than most. This song feels like Adventure Club on Steroids. Adventure Club on Hardstyle. Same diff. This song hits hard as hell and I'm sure it's gonna be a festival banger all summer long.

LOUISAHHH!!!! & MAELSTROM - ROUGH & TENDER

You know that friend that your friends have that you just don't understand why they hang out with? But you give them the benefit of the doubt because they are all so cool and their taste in people is impeccable? And then you hang out with them one more time and you're like "but why?" all over again.

That Friend is to Your Crew AS Louisahhh!!! is to Bromance Crew.

I don't get it. I can't get behind her vocals on a track. But damn, if all the cool fools don't think she's the coolest. So I KNOW i'm wrong. But taste is subjective and opinions are like assholes and i'm a fucking asshole.

Maelstrom brings the dark warehouse techno vibes though.

BRO SAFARI & UFO! - CHIMBRE FT. ANNA YVETTE (MUST DIE! REMIX)

I love all the dudes involved on this track. Bro Safari, UFO! MUST DIE! have their own little niche of bass music.  Moombahbouncebass. This track is fun as hell and hope they all keep collaborating and chilling and partying together for as long as it takes for the EDM bubble to burst, and then some. Plus it's got some pretty vocals to lay underneath and take us on a journey alongside the banging electro synth on that drop.

KOAN SOUND - DYNASTY

No one makes music like Koan Sound. Fucking nobody! And that's a rare as hell thing for any artist to claim. They are the only artist in the entire universe that can be described as funkstep. This new EP of more traditional material from them is the perfect compliment to last year's Sanctuary EP, which was a beautiful departure away from funk step, and towards the underlying etherial atmospheric sounds that work so well to make this track beautiful. Trip-Hop Funk-Step. Holy shit they are special.

Awesome guys! See you here next week? Same time? Same place? You bring the Pita and I'll bring the Hummus.

About Kurt Kroeber

From deep within the murky depths of the Los Angeles River emerged a creature: 50% raver, 50% comedian, 10% Robotcop. Kurt Kroeber doesn’t own a dog, operates Soundbleed (the world’s only dance party comedy talk show rave), and is down to party with you. Come up some time and say “Hey dude!” But definitely make sure to casually drop the secret Illuminati password.
