Best Music Videos - Week 35 2013

8/28/13

Woowee, do I have a treat for you! This week’s best videos will have you crawling up the butt crack of excellent jams and visual stimulation, like Miley Cyrus’ booty shorts. They may even help you understand the baffling science behind the twerking phenomenon, but let’s all pray that that doesn’t happen. Get your tight pants ready because here are this week’s best videos and they’re going to show you a thing or two about music.

Major Lazer – ‘Scare Me’ feat. Peaches & Timberlee

There’s nothing I don’t like about this. NOTHING! It’s got all you’ll ever need in life; a banging track, a guy with muscles and Blake Anderson! Diplo and co really brought their A-game to the party with this sucker. Seriously, show me something more awesome. I dare you!

NO CEREMONY/// - ‘PARTOFME’

If only life was more like this video. And by that I mean in slow motion with a great soundtrack. Who said all weddings had to be boring! OK, I did, but after seeing this video I take it back.

Lady Gaga – ‘Applause’

Lady Gaga videos always leave me with feeling over-simulated and slightly turned on, and this one proves no different. Get the face paint out; it’s time to get weird!

Ebony Bones - ‘Bread & Circus’ (LIQUID LIQUID Remix)

“Eat your bread, enjoy the circus” Don’t mind if I do, and if by bread you mean acid and by circus you mean this video, then I’m way ahead of you. Sometimes the best videos are the ones that make no sense. Case in point. I feel like I’m in a bizarre version of the Thriller video.

Jungle – ‘Platoon’

I don’t know whether to be impressed or jealous at this kid’s sick dance moves, so I guess I’ll settle on both. What a jazzy video for a cool track! Now let’s practice our hand stands.

Cass Lowe – ‘Birthmark’

Firstly, I love this song. Cass Lowe has got a real cool dude thing going on and I absolutely adore it. The video is quirky, sad and beautiful all at the same time. Hold out for the chorus! It’s brilliant.

Fly Or Die – ‘Rock Mafia’

Watch this video and tell me that that little mutant girl is not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen. I don’t really get why Rock Mafia has their very own song, but it’s pretty groovy. The video could totally pass for something you’ll find on cartoon network. If Samurai Jack and Star Wars Clones had a baby, this would be its alter ego.

Grand Analog - 'The Great Rhyme Dropper' feat. Shad

Give me anything featuring Shad and I’m good! Grand Analog got it all right with this one, and hey, I think this may just be my fav of the week. It’s so good, you’ll be an idiot not to share it with your friends. In fact, share this whole damn article! People will totally think your taste in music is superior!

La Fine Equipe – ‘GREMLINS’ feat. ASM (via Curator Francis)

The French really know how to capture an audience and this video is like a cross between Yonkers and the intro of Grease. La Fine Equipe – look them up and get cultured!  Our Curator, Francis did...thanks for the spot!

Seeed – ‘Augenbling’

Hmm, foreign language cinema, nothing makes you feel more intellectual and confused at the same time. But isn’t it a lovely change of pace?! I’ll be moving my head to the side like a German businessman for hours after this.
