Dog Is Dead "Teenage Daughter"

11/6/12

Dog Is Dead is a five-piece indie pop outfit from Nottingham, which is about as cool a place one can be from.

Or maybe that's just us.

The quintet's Latest New Songs have been compiled to create the band's debut studio album, All Our Favourite Stories. (They released 3 Eps beforehand.)

Listen to the Best New Track, "Teenage Daughter," below.  The chorus is the strength of this song, a rising harmonious affair with only one real line that calls to mind acts like Oasis, Our Lady Peace, and Frighten Rabbits.

The lyrics to "Teenage Daughter" are below for your perusing pleasure:

Uh, uh, uh
She's a China doll with a teenage daughter
I've seen it all before, but I never thought of warn you
when we're struggling to think straight
There's another change in us
And we both knew this time

Tell me old foe, you remember where we started?
All caught up in love shaking hands and fickle hearted
And I remember you were puffy eyed in the morning
Save yourself for another guy

Chorus: (X2)

Aaaaaaahhhh
Aaaaaaahhhh
Aaaaaaahhhh
I get used to it

She's a China doll with a teenage daughter
I've seen it all before but I thought you knew better
And she'll never look the same way
There's another change in her
And we both knew this time

Chorus: (X2)

Aaaaaaahhhh
Aaaaaaahhhh
Aaaaaaahhhh
I get used to it

Oooohh, oooohh
Oooohh, oooohh

Aaaaaaahhhh
Aaaaaaahhhh
Aaaaaaahhhh
I get used to it (X2)

All Our Favourite Stories is out now via Atlantic Records.

Thanks for stopping by Bitcandy's Blogs On Music, where we'll never get used to it.
