A New Favorite: Exitmusic (via Secretly Canadian)
Highly underrated indie label Secretly Canadian has done all lovers of music, which includes us here at Bitcandy's Latest New Songs blog, a huge favor. The label has released a stream for the entire debut record of the husband-wife duo Exitmusic. Highlight songs (in this writer's opinion of course) include "The Modern Age," and the title track "Passage."
But don't take my word for it. Listen below and hear for yourself:
Exitmusic is composed of Aleksa Palladino and Devon Church. TV aficionados may recognize Palladino from her roll on HBO's Boardwalk Empire. As you can hear, Exitmusic crafts atmospheric music that most people comfortably compare to Radiohead, Sigor Ros, Beach House, et al. While those comparisons are all fine and dandy, to truly sum up their music you have to look across the pond to the newspaper The Guardian who accurately described the bands sound as "tsunami of pop noise." That right there is pretty much perfect.
Exitmusic's debut album Passages is out May 22 via, you guessed it, Secret Canadian. Thanks for checking out our Latest New Songs blog.
