PopKiller 8 Filtered Songs - Week 2
Pop music: "Music of general appeal to teenagers; a bland watered-down version of rock'n'roll with more rhythm and harmony and an emphasis on romantic love".
Killer: "A person, animal, or thing that kills".
PopKiller: "Music written with murderous intent, written to blow minds, written to KILL the very definition of pop music found at the beginning of this blog post -- music YOU will want to listen to over, and over, and over again."

"Fuck the City Up" T.I. (Ft. Young Jeezy)
Uh…wow. T.I. are PISSED OFF AT THEIR CITY! "Fuck the City Up," which features Young Jeezy, is coming to a Grand Theft Auto video game trailer near you soon.

"It's Not Over" Holy Ghost!
Holy Ghost's "It's Not Over" is 80s pastiche at its finest. Soaring synths, "Wild Boys" percussion and the most elevating of pop choruses -- you can grab a free download of the track (which is taken from Holy Ghost's 2011 S/T debut), below.
"Contemporary Man" Action Bronson (Prod. by Party Supplies)
"Contemporary Man" by Action Bronson (who looks like he should be fronting Fucked Up rather than spitting hard Bronx-rap), samples pretty much EVERY song to have featured on 80s radio A lists. So so FUN!

"Raining Bricks" The Hood Internet (Gucci Mane x Slayer) + "How Deep is Your Thong" The Hood Internet (Sisqo x The Rapture x A-Trak)
The Hood Internet strikes 2012 with yet more deranged remixes! First, enjoy a mash up between Gucci Mane and everyone's favorite middle-aged thrashers, Slayer. Who knew Mane's word-bombs could sound so at home atop seriously-cranked-up 80s voltage?
Next, the Hood revive Sisqo's "Thong Song" and galvanize it with some A-Trak and The Rapture in order to generate, um, "How Deep is Your Thong", *giggles*. Seriously, these mash ups should all sound so wrong, but they all sound so, damn, right. Guess that's the genius of The Hood Internet for ya!
"Tongue Tied" Grouplove
Ah, the power of Apple! When Grouplove first hit back in 2010, we admit, we figured they were some twee-indie band with a fast-approaching expiration date. However, we changed our tune after hearing "Tongue Tied" on the iPod Touch ad. BitCandy loved it so much, we decided to kicks off today's PopKiller with it. Thanks, Mr. Jobs.
"Everybody Talks" Neon Trees
So BitCandy have finally decided what to call their forthcoming fickle trend-chasing indie-pop band: Neon Grizzly Panda Surfer Bear. What do you guys think? We think it could work… Anyways. Soft fail for you here. This is Neon Trees' follow up to "Animal" just going to radio. Too bad they couldn't write as good a song as before.
"Whine Your Battery Up" - Disco Fries & Tommie Sunshine (Gregori Klosman x Kat Deluna)
Disco Fries and Tommie Sunshine have just dropped the following bootleg which chomps and mashes Kat DeLuna's 2007 debut single, "Whine Up" with Gregori Klosman's high-energy (and ironically titled) "Low Battery." The result is a colossal six minute club banger which closes down this week's PopKiller with style.
