My high school science teacher was the kind of person who thought that just because her class was difficult, that made it good. This line of thinking has always driven be crazy, not because things that are difficult can't be good, but because the two are far from synonomous.

Which brings us to today's Reviews On Music. Brooklyn buzz-band Yeasayer finally released their much-anticipated follow up to 2010's Odd Blood when they dropped Fragrant World last Tuesday. As you can probably guess from the intro to the piece, we didn't care for it.

If you're the type of person who finds density enjoyable, than this is probably an album for you. It's not that it is necessarily bad music, it's just underwhelming. Most of the songs bleed together, and they take forever getting to where they're going while still somehow managing to be uninteresting.

Don't get me wrong, all is not entirely lost here. The first single, "Henrietta," is great, especially the last third of it.

The albums closer's, "Glass of Microscope," is also really good.

But for the most part it's just a bunch of noise masquerading as serious music.
